Ran out to the Fourth with Don(Skinny's kid) and Neal(Wired-up) and a bucket of eels to see if we could hang a fattie. The water was 53-55 depending on who you asked, we had a changing tide, and a steady SW wind. Talked to Knot Wish’n a few times on the radio, they had a few smaller fish at the Third but headed in early. Made five drifts over the tube and nada, moved over to the Third and Don had one crash his storm lure up top, so we anchored thinking we had the spot for some schoolie action, Neal hung a 20" as we were anchoring. Unfortunately, that was our only action all night. So we proceeded to drink beers and enjoy the nice night.

The highlight of the night was 32' Luhrs "Proof of Delivery” hard aground on the rocks at the Fourth. We were hailed by a another boat indicating they needed assistance, so we ran over to check it out. The boat “Ali Z” (CG Aux I think) was on the scene and doing a fine job coordinating with the CG HR. The Luhrs was banging around on the rocks when we got there, it was hard to watch since the boat looked brand new, and she was hung up good. Several times she was sitting still not even floating and the tide was falling. I don’t think anyone got hurt and hope they got her off the rocks. Just goes to show that you can't slip up out there, gotta pay attention!

After the CG got there we headed back to the Third, anchored up with Split-shot and had an impromptu Happy Hour after a few more rounds of beers I took my drunk crew back to Lynnhaven, no fish, but a good time was had by all.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Good times Mike, even with no fish!! Moving a little slow this morning!!

Good on ya for being there in case they needed to leave the vessel. Hope they got that boat off the rocks, but it didn't look good at all.

Next time stripers for us all!! Thanks for the trip!

after todd and I passed you guys he headed back to the bend between the 2nd and 3rd island. looking for the birds we left early on, and nada. no birds, not really marking stuff...we trolled for a bit and decided to call it. todd and I both agreeed we shouldn't have left the first spot we found with fish, they were all small but they were there. Todd got a 21" and i landed a 20" amongst a bunch of 17-17.5". i also got caught and released a seagull unharmed for a release citation. beautiful night on the water. Thanks again Todd for taking me fishing. biggrin.gif

So Todd... First of all, I didn't even know you and Andrew were dating. What would be a good wedding present for you too?
