Well, I've been reading post's for a while now and can't begin to tell you all how much valuable info/ insight I have gained. This site really is GREAT!

Last night was my first Striper outing as well as my first night session on my rig. We ran out to the 3rd isle last night about 6pm to find many boats and not alot of current or fish for that matter. My friends managed to boat 1 28" and hook a couple of schoolies but that was about it. at 10 we started to move back towards the 2nd and heard the call from "Proof of Delivery" which sketched me out a bit but the quick response by "AleeyZ" and some others was quite impressive but sobbering to listen to on the radio. Good to know there are some people looking out for one another out there as crowded as it is, my hats off to all who responded!

We ended up at the 1st island under the bridge in the shadows about 200 yards from the island with a building current as the tide had started to finally swing. Lines in and started getting fish immediately! put another 5 in the box in about 40 min. and continued to whack them for another 2 hr's. Had 2 slot fish (31" and 33") and released too many in the 18" - 28" to count.

Back at the dock safely but tired at around 1:45. It was the BEST session I've had since buying my rig and to get that kind of action on my first Striper outing was AMAZING! I only wish the weather would hold out this weekend, I'm itching to make my 2nd trip and find some of the brusers that I'm sure are out there.

Thanks to ALL for the great info! vbsf_th.jpg

The bigger fish were taken on the 6" baits. We were using a Speckled Blue, Red Head/ Clear and Minnow Pattern. Not sure if the color was too important? they were all over whatever we presented however, the bigger fish were taken on the bigger baits. Casting perpidicular to the current, as soon as the line came tight the fish were on it...

The pesky blues didn't bother to take the tails of the shad bodies? They always do that to me so i usually don't bother to use em' till there gone. Nice Job for 1st time out!! action-smiley-033.gif
