Ran out Sunday to some nice 65 degree water just east of the fingers. Fished with Chris (Spyder) and Jack (JDOGHUNTS). Bumpy head sea on the way out as expected but it laid out nice with a nice ride home. Saw some bird activity at the 21 fathom finger tip so we put the lines in there in 54 degree water and trolled east towards the break. Nada. Found the break and 3 other boats working the water. Saw why they were there real quick with big balls of bait some suspended like this one and some on the bottom.

No, the water temp was not 138 degrees but did have a handheld IR temp sensor.

Talked with Kevin (surfperch) who had 2 for 3 BFT on pink way back so we put several pink out way back but nada for us. Thanks Kevin for trying to help us out, glad you guys found some. With the massive bait balls in the area, we just drilled that area, changing up our spread and putting different stuff down on a downrigger, inline weights or stretches but guess they just didn't like what we were offering.

Nice day offshore but I do believe this is probably, most likely, pretty sure, my last offshore run of the season. tongue.gifp Thanks Chris and Jack for crewing up with me and giving it the old college try.

We were back here pulling for you guys, hoping you'd come back with a box full of tuna. Sorry no luck!

You're electronics were over sensative 138 divided by 2 is 69, your tuner was duble echoing the results, happens a lot when the gaine is too high. costumed-smiley-089.gif Just an educated guess. Nice pocket of fish though.

No, I just fried my temp sensor. I have a shoot thru the hull sounder with a separate transom mount temp sensor. I read somewhere that if you disconnect the power from the temp sensor while turned on you could fry it. I think I did that. My sounder is awsome, Airmar M260 with a 1KW DSM 300 and is working great.

We were out last Nov and the Thermocline was so thick its said we were in 30ft of water east of the cigar.

Or maybe the sounder was screwed up?

Trust me guys...this was bait. It was not everywhere. It was not at the same depth all the time. It moved from place to place. No way just a thermocline. Other boats I was talking too were seeing the same bait.
