I'll get in but I'm very seldom the one who actually catches the fish that come aboard my boat.

You inshore guys better hope Captain Craig Paige and Captain O Berry don't get in, they seem to be mopping up in Virginia's report (better know here as Marina Girl). IM sure Julie and Steve might have something to say about the out come. And don't forget Captain Larry and Captain Herman from Tideline and Okee II.

This could be fun to watch!!!

The intent is to acrue possible points for each citation, a point for the Angler, a point for the boat, a point for the Captain and a point for the Mate. Not everybody is out fishing to land paper citations, but it seemed like a way to track the noatable fish that are landed by folks since fish are weighed or measured and recorded. We often don't hear about the combination of Boat, Captain, Mate and Angler for some of these fine fish that are caught. Let's see if we can refine a format for this and track the progress through the year in a fun, sportsmanlike manner!
Hope we get a lot of interest and have an excuse for a great party in the end!

is this just in Va waters

Hatteras does an East vs West year round tournament between the charter boats. I think it's the west side of Hatteras Harbor boats, including Oden's Dock and a couple private boats from the Marlin Club vs. the east side of Hatteras Harbor including Teach's and Hatteras Landing. Don't hold me to that though. Only billfish count, but I'm sure you could easily make up something like this. They have a awards ceremony at the Civic Center after every summer for top 3 release boats, top captain, and top mate.
