Left MS at 6:00AM loaded with eels, bojangles biscuits and dreams of slob stripers. Set up off fishermans island, fished the column with eels. One on the bottom, one 20ft down w/ 1 ounce egg sinker, 2 with baloons ( craig has a awesome rig for that ) and one rigged free hook. Slow current this AM but we marked lots of bait. 20 Minutes in..egg rig gets hit, ITS A SLOB ! Not a Junior Slob, but a full fledge member of the slob brotherhood ! Get him in the boat, I need meat, so he stayed, Probably around 45", weighed 38.5lbs at Long bay. Then Craig gets smasehd on the balloon. ANOTHER SLOBBY BEAST !! We are limited out, craigs weighs 30lbs. We fished for a while longer and changed location to Kiptopeke area, with every other boat in Virginia. Nobody worked today i guess. We find some fishy water, lines out...It's on for the rest of the day !! We released four more HUGE Fish.Lost 2 porkers at the boat. all above 38". Craig caught a hog at 43". And i got a beast at 44.5". Paper it is !!! Fog started rolling in on us, and we booked back to Long bay for some paper, and the slapping of hands. Felt good to roll up to cleaning station and throw those dump trucks up on the counter.
Everyone was catching fish today where we were. Water was Great, and the company was better. Craig- as always..Great fishing together. Today was Epic !! The big fish are on the way boys !!!
I will post Pics as soon as craigs sends them to me. The pictures weighed 300lbs !!
I would like to dedicate todays fish to my inspiration...Julie Ball !
