We fished the James Friday. Very slow all day but tons of big marks and bait. The bite lit up at 1:30 and we stuck a mess of big river fish just north of Craney island towards middle ground. Kept our limit of one per man: 41", 27lbs, 41", 24lbs, 39" 21lbs. Real purdy fish for the river.

Dang redman that is some nice fish for that area. Alot of people use cut menhaden but trolling works well too.Good luck.

Na; we were south of the JRB near Middle Ground light house. We were trolling in birds. I've heard there is a good bite north of the JRB around markers 5-10 on the edge of the channel. Every year that bite develops, but its sporadic. I like high water in the afternoon.

went out yesterday around 4:30, picked up a really fat 33 and 7/8ths right off the bat "all of sudden i started not likeing the slot limit. Then catch another 33", then 17 and it quit. I only fished till seven had some other stuff to do so don't know if the bite picked up after that. I'll find out from a friend whom was putting out as i came in.
