Can anyone suggest a few hotels around Rudee for this weekend? First time for me there. Can I expect a zoo at the ramp in the mornings? Thanks,

Zoo, yes.

You have a boat that needs parking?

You should have no problem finding a good rate on a hotel, just check if they have good parking. Someone should be able to suggest one.

Dolphin Run is a very nice hotel that's only about one or two blocks from Rudee's Inlet. Make sure that you have reservations, though, it is usually crowded.

the parking lot at the ramp only holds about . . . fifty or so trucks and trailers. if you get there and the lot is full, there is an overflow lot across the street about 100ft north. it is easy to miss if you have never seen it before. you park there then walk across the street to your boat.

the hotels at vb are great and welcome fishermen with open arms. you should have no problem finding a room and place to park.

have fun and good luck

Travellodge - really cheap, not super clean, but you can park a boat. Update: not really enough room for a 26' boat. 21' is about it.

Double Tree - rates are $50/night, and there is PLENTY of room to park a boat. Just stayed there two weeks ago.

Travelodge is about $55 we stayed their last weekend, but no boat parking.
Theirs free parking in the public lot on 15th street and parking 1st street.
Good luck and tight lines. usaflag.gif

The Newcastle on Atlantic Ave and around 9th Street is a decent place with Jacuzzi tubs, HOT indoor pool, all oceanfront rooms, wireless internet (works better on the lower floors. Their parking lot will not hold your boat but the have an agreement with the hotel next door (?Atlantic Sands) where you can rent a parking space for $10 a day. Rooms run around $62 a night. Good luck up there.

I ended up staying at the Scooner, not the nicest place I have ever stayed but the view of the inlet was great. I had kids with me that didn't want to get a early start so I sat there drinking coffee watching the hundreds of boats leaving the inlet. We put in around 8:15 without much wait. Did not see or hear about the fight at the ramp till today. Maybe traffic to the ramp should be one way? What was the exact issue with the fight?

I did hear a lot of bickering on the radio, more than I am used to, Ugh.

Thanks for all the help guys, will be back, I liked VB.
