I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THE BFT BITE IS STILL ON AT CLT. NOTHING HUGE BUT FISH FROM 70 TO 150 LBS. WAS TOLD A BOAT OUT OF MANTEO LAST WEEK LEFT THE DOCK AT 6:00 AND RETURNED AT 1:00 WITH 300 LBS OF BFT IN THE BOAT. THE TUNA WAS MIXED IN WITH BLUEFISH.

ALSO SAID THAT THERE WAS MANY LARGE SCHOOLS OF MENHADDEN AS WELL

CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIES REPORTS ? THINKING OF MAKEING A RUN LATER THIS MOUNTH DEPINDING ON TH WEATHER.

I think BLUEFIN is a hush hush topic for anyone that catches them in Va waters.
Thats what I heard from a Capt. I went out with a few weeks ago.

It seems like just as soon as word gets out they close the Virginia season each year.

The fewer bluefins there seem to be, the worse the regulation will get. Just think about it, if there are no reports of bluefin then there may not be any out there? The effectiveness of a solution to a problem is reflected by the degree of truth in the information provided of the problem.

What is the CLT? The only CLT I know is Chesapeake Light Tower, and I didnt think bluefin came in that close.

Its true! Every year you hear of at least one guy striper fishing getting spooled by a probable bluefin. They feed on menhaden as well and follow their food source.
