Launched at OC at 5:30, there was a line on the street even then. Came out of the inlet and there must of been 50 or more boat lights straight out so I decided to run south. Went to False Cape and south caught one fish 31". Did not here of much caught all day down there. Coming back saw the best bait marks all day off the golf ball but did not catch any fish.
We headed down to rudee about 6am and decided to launch from Lesner instead. Turned out to be a good move. Not to many boats at the ramp. Ran out to CH. Marked a lot of bait and fish early in the day but no bites. Bite started to turn on around noon or so for about an hour and then died off again. We ran south to rudee and finally got some hookups. 1 felt nice but got off and 2 were throwbacks. Headed back towards CH. Marked bait and fish all over the place but hookups were about an hour apart. Ended up comming home with 3. one barely over 29 and 2 that came in just over 40 inches. This is only my second season striper fishing so i caught my largest fish yet today. Overall a nice day, lots of boats but the bit was random and pretty scattered. 2 of the ones we kept were on chartreuse stretch 25's at about the 3 mile line right in front of the ramada. Other one we kept was on a chartreuse mojo. Not the best day but im not complaining.
