I work at Damneck Annex. Today, while sitting in a meeting, I was looking out the window and saw about 10 boats just off the shore at Damneck. All the boats where together. For those that are familiar with the base, they where all together down by the campground (About a 1/4 mile south of the building with all the radars. It was beautiful out there, all I could do was dream about being out there. cry_smiley.gif

Hope the folks out there had a great day...

Took a half day off today and hit the water around Damneck. No fish cry_smiley.gif but a day on the water with no fish is better than any day at work action-smiley-033.gif Got some tips on mojo's, I need to see about putting one together.

It was also my first solo trip, didn't do to bad launching / retrieving the boat. Lot of folks out a rudee, but it was smooth.

The bite was spotty there. A lot of good marks but few boated fish from the way it sounded. I managed a FAT 36" fish and lost a slightly smaller one trying to net it (I was solo).

Caught all the 10-15" seabass one could care to catch on a wreck until I decided I was gonna keep a few, then they all wer 8-10" fish. Was trying the new gulp peller crabs for tog but couldn't seem to get the baits to the bottom fast enough. Came back inshore around 11 or so and rode around a bit not seeing to much fishy and blind trolled in the acres of bait at rudee with nothing.

Always happens when you decide to keep some, the fish just get smaller and smaller. How far do you have to go for sea bass this time of year.
