Left for OI Sat afternoon with Uncle P, One lung Tony,T Warner and met up with J Mahoney from Belington W.VA in Nags Head Sat night. We left Wanchese at 6.30am Sunday and headed for the point. Seas were calm until we hit 71 degree water and it really chopped up we caught our first bluefin on the 3rd drop with a 6 ounce abyss jig we boxed a 45 pounder and was done with our one slot fish we were being hammered by fat alberts but did manage three more bluefin all throw backs in the first slot they averaged 40 to 45 pounds went inshore for stripers with no luck except for bluefish they were getting nice 25 to 40 pound stripers further north we called it a day at 3.30. Monday was the day we received a tip from a Steve Macdonald Sunday night and we left Wanchese in pea soup fog Monday am at 6.30 following the scallop fleet out the inlet we pointed south and made 35 knots until we hit the warm water. We stopped 2.5 miles short of our numbers as my Furuno was showing tuna marks. We dropped 4 jigs and had two come tight with Black fin tuna in the 15 to 20 lb range we dropped again and filled our Blue fin slot .15 minutes later we pop a nice 25 pound yellowfin and lost another boatside we comenced to catching 23 more Bluefin all first slot size i couldnt buy a 47 inch fish . We caught 15 to 20 alberts and two Amberjacks to top the day off and my crew especially one lung Tony says I am done take me home. back home at 12.00 last night. Go get em guys they are out there.
