Yea, there were fish. Nolan was there in the Knockdown and there were a couple of other boats as well.

Fish from yesterday, 1/27:

Good luck on your study, that is a great excuse to go fishing as often as possible. I'm jealous of those fish until look at the sea conditions in the background. Albemarle makes a great boat for those kind of days.
ReelTimeCapt
Ken, thanks for the report.

Where were the photos of you fishing yesterday?

Best Regards,
Fletcher
Ken Neill
All these photos are from yesterday, 1/27. Ric, of course, was taking a lot of photos. I'm supposed to tell Nolan that he has some good shots of his boat. I haven't seen any of Ric's yet.

Roger Burnley just lost a nice fish due to a broken circle hook. One of the scientist's dad is sitting on the cooler fighting another:

Some other shots. We started at Corolla and caught some fish there and then ran into those fish off of Sandbridge on the ride back in. We caught fish at both places. We are eeling because that is what the study calls for. We were outfished by the boats trolling around us.

Voodoo
Those are some great shots of how those circle hooks work, as long as you don't try to set the hook. Good stuff can't wait to see some of the data that is collected.

...

Saturday we marked practically no birds or bait from Rudee to South of False Cape (~20 km) and to see that the bait, birds and fish moved back in the area is intersting...
Ken Neill
Yep, saw nothing in that area on Saturday or on Sunday on the way down. I looked. We were just running back home, the seas were getting pretty big. I was pretty much running on RADAR because of all the spray on the windshield and then, there were the birds on the screen. I have no idea where they came from.

A few from Ric:

What was the water Temp?

Curious if the water temp climbed up from 42.6 degrees on Saturday morning at the spot when the photo's were taken.
Ken Neill
I was reading 45-46 degrees Sunday afternoon, a good 3 degrees warmer than what I found in that area Saturday morning.

Thanks Ken! Informative as always. The Study is a great thing...but I don't know about that Burnley crowd. Best to everyone!
Sharp hooks and tight lines.

The board default may have changed. Go to "My Controls" then to "Board Settings" and you can change it to whatever you want in 5 post increments.
