I gave a fishing report on Bobs post from yesterday on how we did at Cape Henry trolling with the new G&H mojos. Well, yesterday we finally got to put them to the test. We used the 16oz and two 28oz chartreuse G&H mojos trailing with a tomic and a chartreuse parachute. We found some bait and marked a few fish early in the morning, so we set out lines to hopefully hook into something. With in a minute we had a double header and two fish in the boat just like that, 32'' and a 35''. They both hit the G&H Chartreuse mojos with the gold tinsel. We are really happy with the way they performed. These mojos arent like any other! We were trolling in 55ft of water and the 28oz held bottom NO PROBLEM! They stayed on bottom like it was nothing. If you dont have one of these new hot lures from G&H, you need to consider picking up a few and trying them out for yourself. The way the molding is made on the mojos, it helps make it dive so it puts you right on the fish. Not to mention, these are simple to crank in rather than struggling with those bulk head mojos. These mojos are serious for serious fisherman. Also when turning the boat and your spread, the mojos stay in a good posistion so they dont tangle up everything. G&H has come out with a great product that isn't like any other mojo. If you havn't seen what they look like, there is a post on the bottom of the page that says "mojos with gold tinsel", theres is picks of these hot new lures. They come in white and chartruese, gold tinsel is optional but I would highly recommend the extra flash to get the fishes attention. And they come in different sizes. Send G&H a pm if interested in these mojos and they will get them to you as soon as possible. These guys were very helpful and would deffinatley pick up there new mojo and try it out for yourself, they catch fish and was very thrilled with how they performed in the water. Get em while they are hot!!! Check out there website, www.build-a-lure.com Or email them at lures@build-a-lure.com Great guys to work with, tight lines and safe seas,

I was so Impressed I got a whole set of ten to replace all of my old style MoJo's. Love the way they sound, swim and look in the water. With the tough bite lately it seems I've been catching much better with these G&H MoJo's then the average fishing report. The customer service I recieved from G&H was exceptional, and I will and have recommend them to anybody who will listen.
On Course
I ordered a set of the chart & white from G&H and now wont buy another Mojo from anyone else.

2 Reasons:

Customer Service

Quality made product

We all know how hard it is to find these two together!

Thanks for all the great comments! We are truely thankfull for the support that you all have shown us. Our goal is to make a good product, at a managable cost, that works. We are still working to get the Mojo's on our website, and hopefully this will be completed soon. Good luck to all and we hope that you have great luck for the rest of the rockfish season!

Do any of ya'll use downriggers? It just seems to me like 24 oz is alot of weight on the end of your line. I've never used a mojo that big, i'm used to using parachute jigs in the 4-8 oz range and just throwin them on the downrigger. Is there an advantage to not using the downrigger and using a heavier weighted lure like them?

Also, I have been fishing the maryland portion of the bay in spring for stripers, usually up near anapois/solomons and we normally keep the lures in the top 20' of the water column. Is that the same down in the lower portion of the bay? I'll be fishing out of reedville now since i got a slip there. I am assuming they will be up top in the spring but just want to make sure!

Thanks all!

PS kudos to G&H lures on the glitter mojos they do look like they would attract more fish!

There are people on here that use downriggers, but the reason I dont use them is because you have a chance of hooking up with two fish rather than fishing one bait. We catch alot of our fish on mojos, most fish that hit the mojos our going to be a nice quality fish. Bigger bait bigger fish as alot of people would say. Plus I like to have more baits in the water so the fish have alot to choose from. The G&H mojo doesn't make it seem like you have a brick on the end of the line, they crank in easy with out having to struggle.

When the fish are deeper and there are big fish around the MoJo's are my favorite. I've used down riggers, but only two at a time, which gave me two deep baits. I have found that varying the sizes with heaviest forward and lightest aft that I can run 6 MoJo's at a time and have them all deep and still be able to turn and manouver faily well with out crossing lines. That gives me 12 hooks down deep when I want to run them deep. I usually run a couple shallow running lures way back on each side as well. Like you said sometimes their on top, so you got to cover that too. The last couple of trips for me have been 50/50 between the MoJo's and the Stretches.
