Fish Dad
Fished with Brian and Brandon on Thursday off CH. We scratched out a limit from 35 to 44 inches around buoy 2c along the ledge. Bait was scattered and so were the fish so we had to work for our fish. All fish came on chartreuse parachute or tomic and one on the umbrella. Nice class of fish hanging around CH. Just have to find the bait which was tough because the gannets were not a big help and the current pushed the bait to a different spot with each pass.

Way to go on some nice fish! I was out there and didn't have much luck, from Rudee to CH. Did you see how close some of those boats got to the incoming aircraft carrier?

Yea, I heard the carrier trying to hail a few boats on 16 to get out of the way. I was the one who jumped on 68 to try to tell the guys to get out of the way. One kept heading bow to bow straight at the carrier and did not turn away until the last minute. I know that makes the Navy very nervious. It's surprising to me how many people don't have 16 on at all times. There was no wide open bite. Bait and fish were scattered over a big area.
Knot Too Fast
The last few times I saw CVN's go out, they were escorted by a helo that helped remind people to get the heck out of the way...usually by hovering over them until the spray in their face was intolerable.

Nice fish, thanks for the report. Ya I thought they usually have a helicopter escort?

Normally they do, however in this case that was a LHD and it was only out for a short 1 day shakedown, so they didn't have any helicopters onboard. Luckily though because it would have been nasty. Thank goodness for everyone that we are in a little bit of a less threatening state because they could have easily unloaded on them. Shameful, why fish in the traffic separation scheme when ships are entering/exiting in the first place...

Back when I was in the riding CVN's we let boats come close enough for women to flash us. The freaking good ole days.
