Took the boat out with Otter, Todd Beck and Surfer Dave....main purpose of the trip was to check out everything that I had Ski Boats do to the boat and everything worked great !....we broke 50MPH in a good 2 - 4 head sea with throttle left.....new installation proved effective already and will be more effective when offshore Tuna Fishing for sure...
Fishing sucked...we worked mainly cape henry area...showed scattered fish but no concentrations.....lots of fish about 7 miles out...tons of bait and birds but they hadn't worked back inside the 3-mile line yet...so we didn't venture out other than to look.....
Saw Fishdad out there I'm sure he slayed em after we left......but we are officially ready for offshore....striper gear is now in the giant storage bin for next year !.....
I'm outta here at 0600 for seattle so see ya on the water shortly after that...Bob

Off subject but my buddy has the same boat as yours which he purchased from ski boats. He had a shorted ignition that would cut one engine off and it took ski boats forever to figure it out. They returned the boat the first time and did not fix it. It took them a couple times, it just seems like they have the wrong people working on Southports there. Have you had any problems with your service from them or the boat?

I'm gonna be 100 percent honest...I have had no problems with Ski boats...they're main mechanic Kevin is the MAN...he knows these boats inside and out...he fishes them regularly and is very intimate with it. I'm sorry about your friends ignition problem. I've really had no problems with my boat at all...and anything I've had questions about they've been able to answer......Bob

Hmmmm well thats good. His issue may have been one of the problems that is a 1 in million and that is why the whole process of getting it fixed dragged on. I dont know who worked on his boat but I will give him this info....thanks.

Bob, nada for us too. Water was dirty, no bait, and only a scattered fish mark here and there. We did snag a mojo on the bottom, gave us a moment of excitement but ended up breaking it off as we couldn't get it back up. We didn't stay too much longer after you left. I'm putting away the striper gear myself. I'm going to fish more inshore this year and less offshore (yea, it's the price of gas). Going to target tog next. I'll still go offshore, just not as often as last year.

We did not fish yesterday as new rigging, clips and other new items were being installed. However, when I left Fisherman's Wharf went to the Fishing Center and there were nice sized rockfish hanging as well as a couple others not hanging getting pics taken. Believe it was Backlash or Waverunner that got them but not sure. That was 12:30 - 1:00.

It was good to see you again Bob! Glad to hear the boat did ran great for ya! Hopefuly I will get my issues corrected in time for drum season, but at least we were back at the dock safe and sound. Capt Ed is the man, and that Seatow membership is so worth it!

Ok I am new at this. Guess I'm glad to finally know what to do with the Rock Gear. Been doing sea trials myself trying to get ready for the Tuna. Put on new ETEC 150s they seem to do the job but havn't yet got the fuel curve built. With the old 140s I had to carry extra fuel to make it to the 000s. That 160 gallons turned to vapor in no time. Hope to see tight lines for everyone soon!

Did you have Zuke 140's??? It would seem that they would be easier on fuel than 150s unless you are getting in that zone where they were not enough hp for the boat. Let me know how they do...I have been looking at Dusky boats for awhile and am real interested in performance #s. I was at the factory last week (down there on a work trip) and their customer service was top notch. The rep took me through the factory and let me crawl around in hulls that were in different stages to get an idea of how they are constructed. Having been in the different models, I will say that I have shifted from considering the 233 to wanting to get the 256 for the larger cockpit. Its a few years off but all the data I can gather now will pay off in the end.
