Forgive me guys - it has been about four years (I can't believe it!) since my last full YFT season. I seem to remember that April and May could be good off VA (Hot Dog, the Fingers, on out to the Canyon), but am I right in remembering that the YFT bite died down after June? Prob now for me is that I am in St. Louis for the next three years, but am keeping my boat in the Lynnhaven Boatel, and I only get a few opportunities every year to get out there. My next trip to VA is in early July - any chance the Fingers will still be good for YFT around then?
Yep, I know - this is no way to fish - especially with tuna, where weather determines if one can even make it out there, but it's all I've got. Can July be good for YFT off VA?

Last July was actually pretty good for the YFT. Lots of 60 - 70 lbs class fish caught throughout the month. Hard to say what this year will bring though.

Earlier is usually better. Things normally get scattered right around the middle of July. Fish are around, but harder to catch. That all depends on the water temps.
If this damn wind doesn't stop blowing it will July before any of us find out if a YFT is off VA Beach let alone the OBX!!!

Thanks a lot, guys. Prob not the best month, but it may be good - I'll take that over a bass pond!
