Title says it all, anyone here target MAKO sharks? Va State record 928 lbs caught at the CLT...makes me think...anchor, set a slick and hang on?

Mako's at the light tower? I would check the date on that record. Those big makos are not as common as they used to be. I know there's alot of sharks at the tower, but not so sure about mako's. Well good luck if you try.

A lot of Makos get caught this time of year out of Oregon Inlet...matter of fact there was one caught last week. I remeber fishing out of Oi last year and we saw a ton of them. Craig aka Ktrain on the board caught this bad boy that day on the troll...

Beach you would have a better shot 30 miles out. The Hotdog holds some Blue sharks,Makos are a possibility also. They used to get huge Tiger Sharks out there also. You need some heavy gear,Snair,Bangstick,Two Flying Gaffs, Swimming hooks . Shark fishing can be tuff on a boat but battle scars give a boat character the way I see it. Once you catch one you have to be able to get the thing in your boat if you plan on killing it.The fleet is going to offer shark charters on the menu at the fishing center this year .
