Hey guys, I've got the chance to go offshore the latter part of this week, maybe sunday. I've never caught a tuna and really would like a chance @ one. What are the chances? Only been out once on a 21ft wahoo off VB, and caught 1 king.
Sure would like to pull on a tuna!
thanks,
DB

Reports I've seen are that you were either on the fish or not. If you found them, the fishing was great...tuna( yellowfin and Blackfin) dolphin, wahoo, AJ's, King Macks...a great mixed bag. So its very do-able! Good luck and be safe!!

Finding them is very hard right now.. Not enough boats out consistently to keep up with them. And there not schooled up good, scattered all over the place. Just hit or miss as everyoone says. Pick a nice day and go for it.

Most people are still jigging too. That's why the AJ's are so plentiful.

Everyone is dead on. Some fish are out there. Some boats are finding them and doing well. Others, are not finding them and not doing anything. Most tuna being caught right now from what I've seen being down there and talking with a Capt. friend of mine who runs a boat out of Teachs say most are being caught on the Rock Pile or the old tower jigging. Some wahoo and dolphin on the troll but all very scattered. Couple bill fish been caught over the past week and a half now. Things should really stabilize in the next week or two.
