Thanks for the update! Heading out this Sat. around the CBBT. Would someone please describe where the small boat channel is? unsure.gif
Also - when you refer to the CBBT islands by number, I assume that #1 the closest one to Lynnhaven Inlet? animal-smiley-077.gif

We're putting in at either Lynnhaven Inlet or the state park on the east side of the east side of CBBT.

that right 1 is closest to the inlet. the small boat channel is befor the 1st island and is marked by channel lights on the bridge. good luck hope this helps

Thank you, very much appreciated! It can be frustrating to go through all the work to get prepared and out on the water and then come up empty and question whether or not you were even in a good spot or not.

I downloaded the ENC charts to study the area topography around the CBBT, there really doesn't look like there is much of a "channel" between Lynnhaven and #1. Will look for the lights when we're out there.

I think we may have accidentally fished there last year and had a bit of luck. It was a ridiculously warm day in Oct. and we pulled in the biggest croaker I've ever seen (far right), 2 stripers, a 24" flatty, a sea bass, a couple small blues, some large spot and a nice puppy drum.

Hopefully I'll have some pics to post on Sunday. (when we caught these, we were using sqid strips and live/cut finger mullet)

Caught a bunch of small blues & croaker, a frustrating amount of skate and a 12lb black drum.
Finally looked closer at the chart book and noticed in BOLD RED LETTERS the designation for the small boat channel.
