Just got my may issue of the fisherman and the ocracoke report says 57 incher cought in the surf.Last years reports didnt put any there till may 16th,and the susky flats has a temp of 70 already.we could be lookin at early to mid june this year,cant wait I'm prayin to the fish gods. tongue.gif

mid june isnt that early. there are usually a few caught over on latimer shoal on memorial day weekend.
i had a pair may 23 in 2005, but they were out around the tower.

your correct Mr. dan,I mean a strong showing usualy doesnt happen till 1st of july.Ocracoke tackle didnt show the first cobia till the 16th last year so hopefully the first fish will be here a week or two early.just looked at teaches lair fishing report and theyve got cobes first report was on the 1st,their first cobe was may 22 last year.

There are usually a few caught in May every year.

What's the water temp in the Bay now? I haven't been out in so long it's depressing. A buddy of mine was out last week at the 1st and said they had 64. Usually cobia need about 68 for them to be here.

guy on tidal fish say poq{not even gonna try and spell that}flats 68 degrees.
