Started the day riding out to the 1st Island with John and Andy. Great day, no seas finally.
We casted storms on the tube for a few then ran to the small boat channel for some croaker bait.
Got 2 croaker then ran back to the tube. Dropped croaker down and lost one, then hooked up with a 30 inch striper.
Toss him back then bluefish ate the bait up.
Ran out to do plan A, drum fish. Ran to fishermans island and anchored in 2 different spots for nothing.
Ran back to 13 bouy, tried to anchor with backup anchor due to losing anchor and chain, no joy, slipped with new anchor.
We then tied to 13 bouy. Put out a spread of clam and crab, 2 other boats out, one was hooked up 3 times we saw, but did not see the size.
We had no pull, nothing for a few hours, then saw one rod start thumping. It was on, john was on rod, and 20 min later I netted his 50 inch black drum.
That was it, we came in right as the wind started picking up.

Eric,
"One is better than none". We also tried that area on Saturday. Wind & Chop kicked our butts over there. They are there now, and I can't wait to put the hurting on them.
Great report as always.
Tight lines,
