Guys
making my third annual trip down to CBBT from PA. Long long trip, but its worth it. Fishing for drum and cobia. When fishing on the shoals for drum, if I don't have a liveline reel can I use my regular spinning reel and keep the bail open???? Or should I keep the drag real loose? Haven't caught either yet, but one year it will come together. thanks

I would set the drag loose so it will pull line. If you leave the bail open it could bird nest on you and then you are out line and a fish. Hope this helps.

I agree. With bait casters I engage clicker and loosen drag, usually the clicker will keep line from pulling with waves and tide, if not engage drag some.

Don't forget our new "How To" section on the home page. http://vbsf.net/How_To_Index.htm. There is a section on drum fishing there. Might help! laughing-smiley-002.gif
