Decided to make a dual fishing trip, first thing in the morning going after the spades and then after a cobia or two. Caught one spade at WT ~10#s first thing. Saw one other caught there in the 2 hours we were there. They haven't gotten in there thick yet but the ones that are there are big. The water temp. is 71 degrees. One fish caught there on Friday the 7th missed the state record by a couple hundreths of an ounce. It weighed 13.98. They should turn on pretty good by the middle of this week. Are the spades hitting at the York Spit Tower? There 7-8 boats anchored up there. I assume that is what they were fishing for.

Left WT and went to Bluefish Rock and set for the Cobia. Had a couple of shark cut offs, one of which was about 30 seconds before a HUGE cobia came cruising into the spread. He turned and looked at the half eaten bunker that my buddy was reeling in and turned away. 30 minutes later, a smaller cob eased his way in, circled the boat a few times, looked at our offerings and left. Didn't catch anything but a sunburn. I did learn a little about cobia fishng though as this was my first trip doing so. I look forward to the next trip.

Haven't tried the spades yet but sat on blue fishrock all day saturday and nothing. Where is WT?
