I finally get a chance to do some fishing Saturday, first time this year! Normally people ask where the fish are... my questions is where do i find the CHEAP GAS PRICES!!!! just kidding, i just can not believe we are probably going to hit 5 freaking dollars a gallon soon. If you see a boat with someone paddling in it, don’t call the coast guard, i am just saving GAS.

This Saturday i am heading out from Salt Ponds Marina in HAMPTON ( I have never left from this marina ). The plan is to head to 4th island and fisherman’s island around 2 pm. I was just wondering if anyone has any comments. Is this a good choice, if so any recommendations on certain areas to try? I have never fished for spade, red drum or cobia but everyone tells me they are all extremely fun to fish so I guess that is what I am going to try to find.

If anyone has any tips or tricks they can throw my way i would appreciate it. No matter what I will be thrilled to be fishing!!!

Fishing out of the same place friday afternoon, my dad is going out in the morning(must be nice to be retired) and when I get off work later in the day we're going out again. Never been spade or cobia fishing, caught plenty of red's but no big boys so no help there for you.

I think we'll be hitting the flatties up around Back River Reef and maybe over to 3 and 4 for one more run at the striper. I'll try and post friday night when I get home so you can check before you head out on saturday.

I'll be out in the area from friday afternoon to monday morning- 21` Seafox CC, answer to Miss Fortune on 68 if I can stand the noise. We'll be out after a last batch of Rock and flounder for the most part. I am looking forward to some relaxation and temps that aren't over 100. The last of the hay is in the barn and I am wupped
