How fishable is the James River in the area around the 17 Bridge with the 10 – 15 knot NW winds forecasted? Wondering if I should fish off the pier or put my boat in. Do not have much experience in that area. Have 18 Ft McKee Craft with 175 HP.

It would be fishable, but not pleasant. If you put out at Bennets Creek Park the ride will not be bad at all. If you snuggle up on the shore where Womble's fishing peir used to be (right beside 17 brdge) you should be fine.

Just stay in Bennets Creek. You will probally catch more fish.
