It sound like the BFT bite at Masseys and the Hambone has cooled down a bit and the bite looks like it moved south. Lumpy Bottom and the Parking lot are producing BFT and the word through the OC shop is that a YFT bite is developing between these two spots as well. We also received reports of BFT caught at the Hot Dog. A Wahoo was caught on Tuesday down near the Parking Lot area.

The BFT are feeding on Sand Eels so it might make sense to put a small bait down on a planer and see what happens. Most boats are stretching out their baits WWB with larger Ballyhoo being the bait of choice along with blue/white cedar plugs.

The Sunset Marina report from Wednesday, 7-2-08:

"Osprey"fished at the Parking Lot today and caught 10 bluefin tunas and released 8 of them, 1 dolphin and 1 kingfish were also caught. "Clear Shot" also fished at the Parking Lot and caught a bluefin. "Natural" fished at the Lumps and caught a bluefin and a dolphin. "Marli" also went to the Parking Lot and caught 2 bluefins 1 weighing 105 lbs, they released another 20 bluefins weighing between 80-100 lbs, they also caught a king mackrel and a dolphin.

(Note: Some of these catches were likely from Lumpy Bottom.)

The Sunset Marina report from Tuesday, 7-1-08:

The "Clear Shot" came in from the Hambone with 2 blue fin tunas, 2 dolphins and around 8 bluefish. The "Osprey" went to the Parking Lot and brought 1 bluefin in. The "Marli" went south of the Parking Lot and caught 1 85 lb bluefin and released 10 others, a 30 lb Wahoo and a Dolphin.
