Not too many boats are spending the money to fish the canyons right now, but I bet there is a good bite that nobody knows about.
We are hoping for some new water coming off the stream which hopefully will bring yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and Marlin. The NC boys are on a pretty good wahoo bite at the moment and up north, there is a good YFT bite on that nice piece of water at the Hudson Canyon.
It appears that a new eddy is beginning to form due east of the mouth of the Chesapeake - we will keep an eye on it and report later. As for Bertha, the hurricane is not a direct threat to North America, but indirectly, it'll generate waves which will head toward the East Coast. Let's just say, fishing may be SWELL this weekend and beyond. See projected path below:

The "Muff Diver" caught 1 dolphin and lost another. They also lost 3 bluefin while fishing at the Hambone. "Rhonda's Osprey" caught 1 bluefin tuna, 1 dolphin and one blue fish while fishing at the Hot Dog. "Espadon" caught 4 bluefin, releasing 2 at the Hot Dog. "Sea Wolf" caught 2 bluefin tuna at the Hot Dog. "Fin-Ness" caught 3 bluefin tuna, releasing 2 of them. They also caught 1 yellowfin tuna while fishing at the Hambone. "Marli" released 6 bluefin tuna weighing 90-100 lbs. They kept one bluefin weighing 163 lbs. He also caught 2 yellowfin tuna and 4 gafer dolphin. They were fishing East of the Hambone.
