I was wondering if it is possible to catch some good size sharks without going too far out. We have a 20' Sea Ox but it is new (to me) and we have had some problems with it so I don't want to venture out in the ocean too far. By good size I mean 5'+. I have caught smaller sharks but would like to catch some big ones. Any info would be appreciated. Would I be able to get into some at one of the wrecks at the mouth of the bay or just off the beach. Would my chances be good at getting on a cobia or king mac while fishing these wrecks? Just trying to increase the odd's at getting some large fish at a given spot.

You can get into some blacktips out at the dump site straight ou of rudee and have a chance at cobia and kings or over at the shoals on E.S. with the same chance. In the flats around oyster over on the E.S. holds a mixed bag of sharks also

I have had some good luck in oyster but be carful if you havent ever been over there, its best to follow someone out the first time. ive been over there several times and ran aground the last time on a oyster bed. some of the chanels are marked but some are a little bit off from where they should be. when we ran aground i was about 30 ft past a marker right in the middle of where it was marked.

My dad and I must have caught atleast 20 blacktips last weekend off Sandbridge in less than 2 hours live baiting for cobia and kings. Everywhere from 1 - 4 miles out. It got so old catching them we left and ran to fish some inshore structure for flatties. Some close to 5'. We were using 4-7" lives (spot/croaker). Cannot find menhaden off the beach...
