I am planning on going cobia fishing sat and was wondering who else may be going and where would be the best area to try right now. I was planning on somewhere between Blue Fish Rock or York Spit but if any of you have any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it... Thanks

I'll be out there, haven't decided where yet but I was thinking 9' shoal area.

Be out there with Dolphindave, gonna troll first around the cape, then probably run to Latimer shoals. Will be on 68 though, franklin.

Anyone else gonna have a radio out there?

Has anyone ever fished Nautilus Shoal for cobia? I'm looking at the chart here on the puter and I might try it tomorrow.

when andrew and i found the "spanish hole" on va beach waterfront, when heading out there or in i spotted some pier rubble out off the beach a way. Probably about 12 or so pilings in a cluster. I really want to try that spot.

Not sure if we are talking about the same Nautilus shoal but I tried the one on the other side of Fisherman’s Island without much happening but supposedly it can produce sometimes. Of course I have not caught cobia in pretty much everywhere you can think of at one point or another.

Same one. It's SE of Fisherman's Island. I think I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow.

Not a whole lot to report from yesterday. Started at Nautilus Shoal and the sharks were everywhere, eating the croakers as soon as they hit bottom. The swells from the hurricane were breaking along the shoal and at 9' shoal on the ocean side of the bridge. Moved to the northern tip of Latimer shoal to get away from the sharks and then we were surrounded by cownose rays the rest of the day. Pulled off a real nice cobe that was smoking line off the reel and that was it for cobia. Caught a few skates and messed around with some houndfish and bluefish.
