Fished Waynes World July 14 hoping to catch our over and under blue fin tunas for Mr. Itani and family,
(my charter group). Started the day with a spanish mackeral (4 lbs 1 oz.) then a gaffer, worked some bait
balls for a while and get the first big bite, pulled the hook about 50 ft from the boat, continued to work
bait and get our second big bite, fight this fish to the boat and see color, this is where it gets exciting.
A big fish (big BIG big) eats the tale portion of our tuna.We scramble to get the remainder of our tuna in the boat as a 700-800 lb Great White Shark tries to get the rest of our tuna. He swam around the stern and sides of the boat for a while, looking at us and lapping up some tuna blood.
Bottom line, this was one of the most awesome sights I,ve seen in my 40 some years offshore. By the way, the tuna remains weight was 83 lbs.(see photo's at virginia beach fishing centers web site.)

My goodness!! Certainly a healthy reminder about the food chain and the fact that a human being goes from the top of the food chain right to the bottom as soon as he gets overboard.

That's a lot of wasted sushi but I'll bet that was an awesome sight.

Thats exactly why I refuse to get in the Water out there, I check my fouled props at the dock after I have limped home on one.Get in the water HELL NO ! Nice job Capt Dave.

thats crazy. i think i would have got a big hook and a rod with heavy wire set up real quick and tryed to get the rest of my tuna back plus 800 lbs of shark meat.

Jaws does exsist! I knew it! And ya'll thought it was just in the movies. that's why I swim in pools.

Top of the food chain ....... Bottom of the food chain.
