Had some new blood abord the C-Note yesterday. Crew was CarsonMac, Justin, Don, Dwayne, and myself. This crew was not extremely interested in shooting out 60 miles to troll baits all day. BUT, the weather gods were shining down on us when we headed out. We filled the tank with 30 spot and grabbed some extra tld 25's(thanks Jake, Matador) and headed out of rudee at 5am to slick calm sea's.

Ended up at the south tower at 7am. Circled the tower looking for the fish and once I found them it was on. Those AJ's didn't give those little spot a chance. I think we boated 10-15 and had enough. We kept one about 40lbs to see what the meat looked like and the crew wanted to taste it. Well we opened it up and it definatly had worms and off that big fish there was little meat that was salvagabe. So, I guess I wont be keeping to many of those. There was a boat with 8 anglers on it there I saw them gaff at least 20 and were still there when we left.

Shot out to the 000's and deployed the white spread with dinks, teasers, and dredges. The Oregon Inlet fleet was above us at the 100 to 120 and were getting some white bites. We stayed below them at the 050 and found some bait marks up in the water column. Just to kill our monotony the port flat pops and Carson's on it. Free, drop, engage, hooked up to a white. He makes it look easy. At the same another lit up white hits our express b/w islander and vanishes. Don makes quick work of the nice marlin and she is released to fight another day. 45 minutes later Carson see's a fin behind the port long rigger and as the fish is approaching he's already on it. Damn nice job on the drop back and we are tight again. Justin is up and makes short work of this white. While at boatside the fish goes A-Wall. We have it all on film. Jumps about five feet in the air and quickly climbs up the side of the boat. What a show and quick release as Justins rod became engaged with the 80 on the gunnel. That was awesome.

Very cool day on the water. My hats off to Carson for the mating job. Dude I didn't know you were going pro, can I be your agent? And, to Don and Justin for thier first Marlin each and the first ever Father-Son Marlin combo on the C-Note.
