NEW Pending WORLD RECORD SNOWY GROUPER!!!!!

IGFA Announcement:

I am pleased to announce:

I am meeting a very excited angler, Jere Humphries of Norfolk, this evening to view and assist with the processing of a new pending IGFA World Record All Tackle Snowy Grouper.

The unoffical weight at this time is 68 pounds, two pounds larger than the existing record. The fish was caught 17 August 2008 on a Boston Mackerel at the Norfolk Canyon. The boat was a privately owned vessel named "Bone Daddy," The owner and Captain is James Collier.

If everything is in order, this is an amazing record! I will post any follow-up info and photos when I get them.

Congrats to the angler and crew!

Lewis Gillingham from the VSWFT viewed the fish this morning, and it's being submitted for consideration as a new state record.
