Fished with Ted Lloyd his son Conner and Doctor Mark Winkler for two days out of Teachs. We set out for the Point area in search of the YFT early Friday but were met with 6 to 8 footers at the shoals and they were tight we fall back to plan B and fish the Rocks off the tower and had numerous Hoo bites came tight with one boxed him and before we get all lines back in a bull dolphin parts the water from 200 hundred feet in front of the boat and slams the port short rigger this was a really nice fish and after 15 minutes of crossing all our lines he bails for freedom 10 feet from the Gaff. We redeem ourselves 10 minutes later with a nice Mahi of about 15lbs. Within 15 minutes the planer rod trips but no hook up a sail fish surfaces and commences to slash four surface baits before losing interest this is one of three we saw in two days of fishing with a sick ( Green ) Doctor on board we decide to call it a day. Saturday we awake to awesome seas and a light South wind. First stop is the weather buoy and we pull a nice Mahi off it. We start heading to the SE rocks to do some jigging and a mile into it we get covered up by a nice class of balers and we box 8 of them. We get to the jigging spots and load up on Sea bass, tile fish, vermilion snapper and one American red and lots of ajs.We decide to call it a day and high speed troll back to the WX buoy were two miles from the buoy when a big hoo explodes on a GETREELLURES Heavy D 50 feet off the starboard corner myself and Ted both got a good look at this fish and i will be conservative and say 50 to 60lbs after peeling about 300 feet of line off and destroying the skirt and removing the rear spinner blade he gives us some major surface churning head shakes and tosses the hook. We call it a day and head for the barn all in all a fantastic trip with lots of fish and more laughs. Thanks for the hospitality Ted i truly appreciate it. Conch
