Got a late start (0630), one of our crew wasn't feeling well. The crew was myself, the lovely wife, my long time fishing bud Allan and his wife. Forecast called for light and variable winds, the weather man was right on. Left the inlet in a 3-5 swell and headed Southeast. Seas on the way out were alittle choppy, but the 26' ProKat cut through the waves like butter.
Got to the point and set out the spread. Picked up a couple bailers off the bat and kept going. 30 minutes later the short outrigger pops and Christy takes the pole. 25 minutes later, a nice 40 lb. Wahoo. (Her first offshore citation).
Trolled the rest of the day picking up some Mahi...looked for billfish with no luck.
Tried for Tilefish, picked up only 1. Decided to head back in around 1600.
Nice day on the water. 1 for 1 on Wahoo and 8 for 10 on Mahi.
