Hit lynnhaven from 6am-3pm today and caught 12 specs, 1 flounder, 1 drum, and a bunch of blues. Everything was
about an inch short of the minimum. Fished mostly around the tennis courts with grubs and mirr lures. Anyone catch any keeper specs?

I also tried around Lesner with no luck besides a few Blues. Has anyone ever had any luck with specs around Lesner?
Also what water depth are you guys catching specs in? Ive been having some luck in 6ft of water. Do they like less?
I may have a few extra spots open if anyone wants to try for specs this weekend or next week. Let me know.

I have had a couple good trips recently fishing it at night on the falling tide. Most have been small but a few nice ones. Its just the beginning though...only gonna get better.

There are about 9 boats out there now at 2:00, I'm looking at them from my 15th floor condo. Water is very clear with a wind at about 5 mph from the n. My boats is awaiting a part so I fished the under the bridge with only 3 short flounder for my efforts on gulps. No pups, no specks to report. The rock structure under the bridge has been covered by sand from the noreaster we had and the fishing has suffered as a result. There are some new bars and deep spots cut out in front of the duck in that should be grat when the specks decide to come but they were a no show for the dozen or so anglers out there today. The cast net guys were bringing in some mullet in the 10 to 11 inch range with a mix of porgy and blues. No spot in the nets.
I'll report if the afternoon produces better results.

Thanks for the report. I may try night fishing for specs this week. Do you guys have better luck in the channels or along the grass?

That must be sweet to have ur condo in watching range, if people are catching u just need to walk down and right out front and go get em'.

Are you night fishermen in the same spot for the specks as during the day?

The guys at Crab Creek ramp told me that the tennis court area/bend was where the hot spot for spot over the weekend. With the wind, you could barely navigate through the area on Sat/sunday. Good to see some of you guys at the m&g on friday- nice to put a face with the names!

The Duck Inn side of Lesner produced some specks this morning up to 21" and three pounds. Right before the flood tide ended. That is one fighting fish.

Thanks for that. Im headed out tonight and will be around Lesner bridge and tennis courts hoping to run into some keeper specs.
Anyone else headed out? If so what channel will you be on?

No luck tonight from 7pm-10pm in Lynnhaven. Has anyone had luck at night for specs?
