Sooo im all backed up all weekend and get a chance to maybe go out sunday. Forcast comes in and it looks bad. I believe it was along the lines of Gale Force Warning, with 30-35kt winds gusting to 40, 2 to 4ft wave action on the sound. Well Firefighting Fisherman, Troy, and myself head out anyways. About 6 mi across the Albemarle Sound I find myself sitting down in the bow on my new comfee beanbag chair (Thanks Don and Dave, doorprize at the BWC) watching the water roll over the bow. It was pretty bad out there so we turned around at the halfway mark and headed back to the mouth of the river where we fished hard for a few hours and came home with our limit of 9 stripers. No HOSSES but they are all keeper fish and will eat good. Caught them on everything from Drone Spoons to rattletraps to crystal minnows. Seemed like the action would come and go. Scattered fish mostly with lots of birds working. Had a good day. Water temp was around 68 or so. Had a blast. Thinking im gonna go again this wed and try to get back out into the sound to our spot for a few hosses. May have room, pm me.
