Left Lynnhaven @ 7:00 PM..got to the 3rd in a 1-2' chop 3-4' swell...
Fished bay side, ocean side just about every angle of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Island. All the Taylor Blues you ever wanted mostly 1-2 pound class, but not a single Rockfish!
Kept a few blues for cut bait.
Not a good night.
The chop makes it tougher but following the light line between the bridges at night is a good method for finding schoolies, especially if there are some gulls out there telling you where they are. I have caught some bigger fish at night doing this by letting my lure sink to about 10 or 15 feet right at the light line and then retrieving. Lures of choice are pearl storm shad (if the blues aren't biting the tails off), med weight bucktails, or divers.
