Way to go and thanks for the report! The white on white 1/4 oz. spec rigs can't be beat! I just ordered three cases of 12 packages from greentop. The price comes down to about $ 1.37 ea. when bought by the case. They give you a 10% discount per pack when you buy a case. The regular price there is $ 1.49 ea. The white on white 1/4 oz. are hard to find, so I just go in and order them when I run out.

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is a spec rig? I always used a Hyper Striper Stump Jumper bucktails with a spinner on the front. Bass Pro stopped carrying them. They worked great for stripers. Is a spec rig like a bucktail?

scooby,
go to basspro in hamptom and ask to talk to Matt the fishing manager, ask him if he can get those stump jumper's in for you.

I went there a few weeks ago and they had some small ones for fresh water but no large ones( 1oz- 2oz) for salt water. I looked online and could not find them either. I will ask again if they can get them in. I really liked them because they had the spinner on the front. They seemed to work when other bucktails wouldn't. I did pick up some spec rigs today, 1/8 oz. and 1/4 oz. white and chartreuse. I will give them a try on Saturday. Thanks for all the help guy's I appreciate it. Tight lines.

Here is what one looks like. In my honest opinion, the attractiveness to them is the movement of multiple lures through the water and the success of any given color is based on what the fish is currently eating.
When things are slow I've experimented with the design and made them up myself using different lures/plugs/hooks with good results. Just got to have a bit of imagination and lots of crap in your tackle box to experiment with.

spec rigs are the sh't.. i have caught everything on those..theres only a couple drawbacks on them.
1 i would recomend retieing them sometimes the knots are not the best..at least tighten the knots up
2 paint comes of easily clear finger nail polish will help that a little
3 after a couple uses in salt water u should trow them away.i have learned that lesson the hard way. salt water will corrode the hook near the head. and the hook will pull off on a nice fish..and they allso bend very easy..all in all keep your eye on them and they will cath fish
