Well....with this being my last weekend I can fish until late December, Otter and I decided to give the Blue Fin Tuna a shot today. Wind was a bit stiff this morning at 0700, definately not the 10Kt winds predicted by NOAA or Intellicast, no, I would say a definate 20 gusting to 25 out of the n - ne.....made for a interesting ride out that's for sure....but we worked it out past the tower and put lines in with visions of Giant Blue Fins crashing our baits......
Only one other Charter boat out there, happened to be in a 58 footer and he had pretty much the same day we did....Blue Fish bite offs, no love from the Tuna.....we fished from the tower , out to the fish hook area and back to the tower...had a ass load of birds there at the end of the day but nothing came out of it but some chewed up, bit in half Ballyhoo....
So....putting away the big Gold gear and lubing up the senators, TLD's and Penn 45GLS's getting ready for the ocean striper when I get back....What color is the green can at Cape Henry again ??????
Look for the big yellow boat back on the water after the 19th......
Little Video of the ride out...
Good luck and see you soon......Bob
