Mike.....it was frustrating to say the least....we pulled Horse Hoo's on Blue and White Islanders.....no hits...baits right through the schools.....changed to Pink/white sea witch to see if they would eat a smaller bait..no luck.....put some of Don's stuff out still no hits...had planer down deep, had a stretch in the mix...nothing.....like I said, if we had a grapling hook we could have snagged some fish they were that close.....I'm sure Chunking would have worked....
The last school we worked was a bigger class fish than the ones we were chasing earlier...probably 150- 200 pounders....they stayed in the same area but were up and down...if we had some Bunker and could have chunked I'm sure it would have worked.....oh well....that's fishing....
Striper story same...Cape Henry and Green can...lots of marks but no bites...only worked that area for about an hour as Don had a Very Important Ceremony he had to attend......We call Don Sir Drinksalot ...that's his knight of Columbus name....
definatley a beautiful December day out there...couldn't ask for better conditions....and yes we saw those nets also....

I figured it out when I got in the truck to drive home.
This really happened.
I was red drum fishing alone one day/night in the spring near Fishermans Island and came way to close to one of the buoys before seeing it when I started home. I was thinking that is odd I can usually see pretty good at night. I had put out at Messick that day and it would be the first time coming in there at night. I usually use Wallaces but thought it would be easier at night coming into Messick. I get to Messick and man it is really dark on this side, I drive all the way home and go in the house and go by a mirror and realized I still had on my sunglasses at midnight.

Would someone mind sharing their numbers for the Ocean Venture? My numbers must be bad as I couldn't find the wreck when I tried this summer. You can PM them if you wish. Thanks

Great report, sorry I haven't been keeping up with the BFT bite, going to have to spend more time checking out the winter bite. We did alright on the rockfish Wed. trolled around the eelers off plantation light, picked up Two 35" fish one on the mojo daisy chain, the other on one of my homemade baits on the outrigger, then limited out on the 20 to 25 inch fish.
