Randy Morton, Myself, Jamal, and My dad fished on the Lucky Strike Wed. Fished the Norfolk Canyon on Wed. the 3rd. did 6 daytime drops and ended up finally getting our bite on the last 15 min of the last drop. fought the fish for about 40 min and finally landed our first this year. boy has the weather been bad. 48.5" fish. hopefully we can get into a more stable weather pattern it has really sucked up here. anybody who wants a change of the normal fishing they can be caught up here and in the daytime. Would really be great to get some more people trying to rec. fish for swords in the mid atlantic. this is our 6th daytime fish over the past 2 years. Casey btw more bluefins heading south. the canyon had acres of fish between 60-200+# we saw but did not try for.

caught on a rigged squid. we fished between 550 and 2100 feet have had bites everywhere inbetween over the past few years. off-set j-hooks are a must. pick according tot eh size of the bait. most bites have come in the late afternoon, but we have had bites first thing in the morning and on some days bites on most drops. this trip only on the last drop for certain though.

Nice job Casey and crew. Great talking with you out there and thanks for the BFT sighting report. It does take a great amount of dedication to gather up a crew to fish in a single line in the water. But it paid off.

Pretty work! Sounds like a combined trip might really be a good idea. Set up for swords in the early am, do some deep dropping for tiles and grouper around mid-day and set back up for swords in the early afternoon! Catch 'em up!
