Decided to stay close to home and away from the all the boats at the CBBT. Started trolling at the MMBT and couldn't even catch a buzz. Had enough of that so we tried the HRBT. Got there and saw some birds off of Fort Monroe. Headed over there and found one of the biggest schools of bait I've ever seen. At some points the markings went from 15'-75' and would go for 100 yards in 100' of water. Caught 1 at 37" and 3 more at 20". Would've like to try dropping jigs or mojos down to get deeper but left them at the house. After that the bait broke up and became scattered and the bite pretty much shut down. Dumbass me forgot the memory card for the camera so we had to take pictures with the video camera. Here's a few

We trolled off Ft. Story for a few hows yesterday afternoon, only saw it rain gannets once, and we were (of course) a mile or so away. Painted bazillions of fish, the birds were active all afternoon, but the bite never turned on. We caught one 24" and one right at 28", which had to be one of the fattest stripers I've seen for her body length. The spread consisted of a 10" Storm shad in bronze, a Bomber Long A, a 10 OZ chartreuse mini-Mojo, a stretch 25+, and a 24 oz Mojo with a tin squid trailing by 12'.
Both fish hit the Storm. Not sure how people did out at the line because we turned around at the lighthouse, but there were fish out the ying-yang.
