Hey is anybody catching any descent sized fish between smith point and windmill point. I generally fish in the upper bay and have only heard bad fishing reports. I hope somebody can talk to the fish for me.

The bay water temperature has dropped to around 41 to 42 degrees, which is pushing the lower limit for the stripers to bite. Off the ocean front, the water temperature is above 45 degrees. This is not to say that stripers will not bite at 42 and below, just that the bite, usually gets somewhat slow at around that temperature--especially inside/up the bay. In years past, I have managed to catch them in temperatures as low as 39 degrees outside of the bay.

friday & saturday I heard of decent catches between 41 & 42. nice fish (higher slot to 41") w/ mid to upper 20's mixed in. not on fire, but decaent.
