Had the boat in the water by 5:15 am and headed out to red 18 bouy. Set out our spread of eels and just as it started getting light WHAM! nice 38" on float rod with depth of 5',angler decided to release and wait for a larger fish(later we thought this was a bad idea) because our pepsi's tasted like pepsi and our sandwiches did not have sushi flavoring. Fished there until noon with nadda. Went out to the ocean in front of fishermans island after the fog broke. 10min later nice fish on(mechanical release) same rod, same angler, same depth ,5' . 20 min later another nice fish on, this fish got into 3 other lines before they could be moved (great work by my 1st mate) finally netted 44"(36#) but a little to late, all the sandwiches where gone and you guessed it same rod, same angler, same depth 5'. By the way, did I miss the fight at the boat ramp. It was about an hour wait to load the boat(uneventful with people helping each other, the way it should be.) overall, great day traded in for yard work.
