that is awesome!
Yeah. And Damn cold too. My Dad told me a story once of when he was out when it was this cold. He said it was the only time he has ever seen foul weather gear shatter.

You all want ice I had ice. That ice on that Contender was nothing compared to the

crap we had.
Had to put reels in the shower

tonight to get rid of the ice. Now I know what the Bering Sea is like in the winter. Congrats to Max and the boys though it was some tough conditions out there today.
Don we beat you down

for this weather because we blame you.
If you are headed out tomorrow take your rubber mallets and an ice scrapper you will need it.
Now where did I put that ice pick.......I need a shot of tequilla......

Thanks for the info!
We're heading out tomorrow (not in the tourney) - did you have any issues with eyelets freezing up when reeling in lines?
How about bilge pump and other boat related mechanics in the severe cold?
The wind isn't going to be so bad tomorrow so the freezing mist shouldn't be an issue, right?!?

Studs fishing today now! Team Cool Change didn't get into the Frostbite but are planing on it next year. We got to get back to Kipto one more time though and with the water going from 42 yesterday to 40 today we might as well pull the plug and come on down and at least fish Sunday maybe Monday.
Should I fish the outside in the eez with eels instead? Good luck to all.

We fished in the Frostbite tourney yesterday. All we caught was a cold. In a 21 ft. boat we could not fish where we wanted to. It was a little too sporty for us to go North. We had to stay ocean front. I have never had ice build up on my rods and reels before. My face is freezer burned. GIL

Way to go on the hard core fishing and landing respectable fish!!! But how to you prepair for a 2nd day when you come home covered in ice knowing the temps. aren't going to get any better. Good luck to those going.
