Headed out for Smith Island around 0630 in thick fog. Once arrived, drifted eels for 2 hours, NADA. Decided to head south toward Cape Henry, where we go skunked the day before. Went past 4C about 1/2 mile and notice birds working. Pull on the outside edge and dropped and eel and was casting a parachute jig. Had one about 38" on the eel and a 43" on the parachute. Immediately casted the parachute jig back out and caught a nice fat 47" that weighed 45 lbs. Started to troll for a little while after this and caught 4 other fish. My buddy had a 2 - 38" at the same time on an umbrella rig with a double parachute. Awesome day!!! Everyone else in the area were hooking up left and right! We took our limit and released 3 others.
