After doing some bookkeeping and clean up after the Frostbite Challenge, it was time to relax...for a short time anyway. Dave heard of a bite off the 4A, so off we go, Dave, Pat, Laura and I around 3:00pm. Steam out in near flat conditions and set down in the midst of the fishest water...marks, slicks, thousands of birds diving...we found them. Out for about 10 minutes...one on....then 2. Laura fights the first fish, while Pat takes the second. Land both fish that scale aaround 25 pounds. This was Laura's first striper.
Reset spread and another double header on the same rigs, white trailer on tandem rig and chartruse GRL Shad Parade. Reset and get hit on the grey Ghost Stretch...and I get to boat one, but as usual for old Don, I'm a little short. As I'm fighting my fish, the other Grey Ghost got hit, but didn't stay buttoned.
Worked the area until dusk and headed to the barn with 3 nice 25 pound stripers. Action was hot and a day late for the Frostbite Challenge...murphy's law i guess.
Dave and Laura have pics and will post soon!!!
