Hello everyone,

Beautiful day out there today. Unfortunately I was unable to join all you guys out there on the water. I was working. Many of you probably saw me today. I am fortunate to have a job that sends me up and down the coast line in a CH-47 helicopter once or twice a week. We did some flight training from FT Eustis to Manteo and back. I can't help but check out the activity on the water while I'm flying. It looked like most of the action was CH today. I bet I counted 100 boats or more from the air. On the way up thru Duck and north I saw scattered birds, nothing really thick. Most bird activity was in the Sandbridge area, but only two or three boats. The Oregon Inlet pack looked as bored as the CH pack. I hope you guys were catchin more than a buzz. I'm hoping to join you on the water this weekend. I love seeing that winter action.

Great report! Great job with a great view I bet. I have a family member that flies P3's out of there. Do you ever get the chance take pictures of the birds on the fish while you are up flying? It has to be cool loolikng down at the schools of bait & f fish.. Do you guys get to fly offshore much during the spring & summer. Jeff tells me that they can see the weedlins on the breaks while they are flying.

Thanks again and hope you get to go fishing soon.....

We don't fly offshore, usually stay within coastal waters. We do cover just about every inch of the bay though, and yes, I do take lots of pictures. I need to purchase a better lense. Unfortunately, we have attitude restrictions in some areas. Don't want to piss off the wrong person. I love to fly as much as I love to fish. I'll try to show some when I get a chance.
