RudeeFishing
As we left the dock at 4:00 am on valentines day, Rudee Inlet was like a sheet of glass, absolutely no wind!! Everything was quiet. With the questionable forcast.......and the WRONG forecast last week, most boats opted to sit this one out! With the wreck fishing a little on the slow side the last couple of weeks, and the tile fishing on fire, we decided the head straight to the canyon! As we arrived we noticed the water temperature climbing..........this could mean only one thing!!!! MAYBE NO DOGS!!!!!!! As the first lines hit the bottom.......it was on with tilefish and sea bass coming over the side!! By the afternoon everyone had their limit of tilefish and great catches of sea bass! And VERY FEW dogs!! We decided to go check out the edge for some variety, But after 2 drops in 600 feet of water..........everyone was just too worn out from the mornings great fishing! We did manage to catch a few barrel fish and right many blackbelly rose fish! We had sea bass up to 5 lbs. and once again we registered 16 blueline tilefish citations, with an astonishing 49 tilefish over 10 lbs. And we also set the new state leader with a 19 lb tilefish!
Our trip for February 21st is already full. We have started a waiting list, and depending on the forecast we may add another boat!!
Remember these are prepaid trips with a limited number of anglers so make your reservations early!
