Nice ride out & set up for jigging, our first time really working the jigs. Took a while to get the technique. That will put a hurtin' on ya! Danny gets a decent Amberjack. We move around looking for better water & find a 44-66 temp. break. Nothing there, make a move to the cooler side & Danny gets another fish on. A Very Nice Blackfin Tuna in 44 degree surface temp! A couple of Bonitas & that's it on the jig.
We switch up for sea bass. Bring in about 2 dozen seabass & 1 tile & it starts to rain a little. It's 11:20 now & Ben says get em up, the wind is on it's way. He was right. We make the run it & it's raining but the Bluewater center console is doing an excellent job. It gets a little choppy, but not too bad. We clear the inlet at around 12:45 or so & all is good.
Wade & I will be getting together a better travel bag. The current one does not have our rain gear in it, it is on the boat. I did not get that wet, but Wade was soaked from the rain. I have not been on but a few center console boats, but this 23' or 24' boat was the best riding boat of it's size I have ever been on & the dryest cc I have ever been on. We did not take any spray, the only reason we were wet was the rain. Very nice ride in rough water.
We end the day w/ about 24 seabass, 1 tilefish, 1 Amberjack, 2 released bonitas & 1 35lb. citation Blackfin tuna.
My arms were like mush at the end of the day, & Wade & I were up for about 37 hours with only a total of about 2 hours seep. Got back to Mechanicsville at 6:00 & hit the sack shortly after.
I guess it's fresh tuna & seabass tonight for my 30th birthday. Nice way to bring it in. Damn I'm getting old!
It was rainy so I only got the 1 picture. Nice fish Danny!
